Does Google Cheat?
An email exchange on the way Google is biased toward various sites, leftist ones especially. What is ‘leftist’? I couldn’t exchange an email with most leftists these days, but somehow I am pegged a leftist.
Very well, ultra far left, left of Karl Marx, right up there with Zarathustra and the Spaghetti monster.
It is very disturbing to realize that Google cheats, although my case is not formally conclusive. But all it takes is one jink on a set of keywords.
The Exchange:
Response to email below:
I think you may have solved it. I had thought it an evolution issue, and perhaps it is also that partially. But your suggestion of a left suppression issue may be right.
Type ‘eonic effect’ into Yahoo Search, then into Google. Notice the difference. Google has some off the wall email i wrote five years ago to lead off the keywords! My site, the source of the keywords is listed last!!! Minor or incidental sites with a link are listed before the main site. That can’t be chance. No search algorithm is going to do that by itself. It makes no sense.
Not many type ‘eonic effect’ into search engines, and the paired words are virtually unique to my site, and the point is that this example reveals how the system must be rigged. I don’t know.
At Yahoo you will see how such engines function normally, the ‘eonic effect’ tops the list, quite naturally, and then the secondary refs. Google was almost identical to what you see in Yahoo now, but the week I announced my Second Ed it all went haywire.
A similar fate for my Axial Age page, axial.htm. I used to get thousands and thousands of hits, toping the list for those keywords for two years, but made the blunder of putting the count out in public. In no time the page sank out of sight in the listing.
Try typing in ‘axial age’ in Yahoo, and then Google. You will notice ‘axial.htm’ is still at the top of the list.
So, I fear our Google objectivity is a myth, and leftists beware, but not only leftists.
The left should start thinking about this.

I do have constant worries about getting nuked. I figured out that Google
is rigging my webpage rankings, for example, this after all the ‘honest’
statements their algorithms work automatically. The minute I announced the
second edition, my rankings went haywire.

Yeah it’s wierd. Yahoo used to return my essay
“Marx versus Nozick, judged by [name] favorably ranked in
search results… Now, for some reason, you can’t even get it
to pop up, even if you directly search for the URL…Looks like some libertarian hacker or someone wasn’t happy
with my essay?? The opening line is telling ::“Nozick is a big fan of freedom; such as his scariest freedom,
the freedom to enslave people, if they agree to it, and they’re
of the age of consent, (this age to be determined by an
impartial panel).”And before, google was being very unkind to me, not even
returning search results for specific strings directly searched
for in my texts… but now, google is giving me more hits than
yahoo… strange….oh well,
such are the wonders
of the free info age…
