As the Darwin debate rages, mostly in vain, we are stuck with the dogmatic propagandas of two cultural factions, the Darwinian and religious fundamentalists. The results have hopelessly confused the issue of evolution.
Science has produced a tremendous vista of evolutionary facts, but has never gotten straight the question of theory. It is time we freed ourselves of this authoritarian fixation of discourse on evolution, bypassing the current Intelligent Design scam trying to exploit this confusion of Darwinists.

Real innovation on the subject has gone underground, and is hardly able to reach the public. The solution is to remember that the original context of evolutionary discourse was that of science, that Darwinism spawned a metaphysical pseudo-science of natural selection in its place, and to limit ourselves to what we know, and can observe. That’s a severe limitation, but the results are instructive. The only properly documented record is history itself, which can show us the real clues to the descent of man.
