ID peaks, now the real debate begins…
It seems the politicians are getting nervous about ID, Santorum changing his view on its place in the classroom. Is cynicism permissible here?
BEAVER FALLS - U.S. Sen. Rick Santorum said Saturday that he doesn’t believe that intelligent design belongs in the science classroom.
The ID movement has produced a distraction from the whole question of Darwinism, which should have been the focus of critique. So if it is true that the tide is turning on ID (but I doubt it) then we can at last focus on the real issue, which is the trouble legacy of that pseudo-science of Darwin. Philip Johnson started all this with Darwin on Trial. Time for that trial to begin, without any religious cooptation of the basic issue.
