ID in Nineteenth Century Textbooks

The Washington Post quotes some nineteenth century textbooks,
‘Intelligent Design’ Deja Vu
in case we are wondering what ID in schools would be like. Obviously it would be a regressive gesture. But we are still left with the question of what is the best approach to teaching evolution. The current approach isn’t the right approach either.

School boards across the country are facing pressure to teach “intelligent design” in science classes, but what would such courses look like? Thankfully, we need not tax our imaginations. All we have to do is look inside some 19th-century textbooks
