None too bright
The complete idiocy of the Brights website leaves me flabbergasted. Further, this is pegged as ‘Bright–as in Enlightenment’. The naturalism/Darwinism of this group, and its definition, have a fairly tenuous claim on the Enlightenment. Darwinism is strictly speaking a decline from the Enlightenment.
This initiative worries me for the same reason Dennett’s Breaking the Spell worries me. The failure of science to generate a reasonable social project is stark. We can see why fundamentalism is starting to flood into the vacuum.
