That evolution as a fact is not Darwin’s evolution is one of my points from the very beginning. Its good to see the straw man finally burning, yet there remains a lack of appreciation of the negative argument that got us to this point. The negative argument only refutes the positive argument, a type of passive aggression brought in by the likes of Socrates. It remains the burden of the positive argument to come up with a scientific theory of evolution that withstands the onslaught of the negative arguments. The old creationists only carried the burden of the negative arguments; they were not scientists. ID has gone the extra mile in one respect, however, in that they hint that there is something in nature (a designer) that is not reducible to chance and necessity. We may conclude that the new theory of evolution will involve an auxiliary category that is beyond chance and necessity, not necessarily a “designer”. I believe that fundamental category will be the essence of consciousness itself, leading to a type of vitalism and panpsychism. I have said this many times.
