Darwinian junk theory reaches the bailout debate

Posted in Critique of Evolutionary Economy, Evolution at 5:09 pm by nemo

David Sloan Wilson brings the issue of Darwinism to the bailout issue, The Invisible Hand is Dead. Long Live (Smart) Regulation.,
with an opposite viewpoint from Arnhart’s Darwinian Conservatism blog:
Is There a Darwinian Case for Bailouts? A Response to David Sloan Wilson

It’s about time to graduate from Darwinism Misapplied to Ideology of Darwinism 101 by seeing that since Darwin’s theory of natural theory is almost certainly an incorrect view of evolutionary dynamics, it’s application to economics, let alone such a micro episode as the bailout, in any form is going to be misleading.
Ideology of Darwinism 101 reiterates the realization that Darwin’s theory was a crypto-ideological rendition of an economic theme to begin with.

In generation the question of evolution simply doesn’t apply to markets in the way it applies to biological forms, and confusing the two is prima facie evidence of an economically ideological civilization in progress.
Ideology means, apparently, all parties (including disgustingly the so-called left) are oblivious to said ideology, and can’t budge in their delusion, so all we can do is hope this nonsense doesn’t do too much harm here.

Let’s repeat the point: there’s a small chance you will snap out of it: Darwin’s theory of natural selection is almost certainly a false, and misleading, take on evolution, certainly human evolution, and human civilizational evolution. So it can’t be applied to economic systems.

Liberals need to get past Darwinian ideology, but they can’t. Ironically they are, currently, frozen in place by the conservative design argument which is leading them on in the delusion that Darwinism is a liberal viewpoint. Which it is not.

Arianna Huffington (Wilson’s article is at Huffpost) is a closet postdarwinist, I am willing to wager, so let’s get come clarity here on evolution, politics and ideology.
