From Kant to Rorty
Richard Rorty’s provocative pragmatism reached an audience far beyond academic philosophers. A new biography unfortunately ends before he ascends to that larger stage.
Rorty is an interesting figure but at the point where you meet someone who, armed with one of his books, declares that Kant has been somehow refuted, you have to wonder if his legacy wasn’t subtly destructive.
