Noun that is a verb that is a verb that wants a subject
Atheist philosopher of physics on why ID is a reasonable idea
Is this anything new? We have proposed the distinction here between n-design and g-design, all the while remaining critical of the ID group for its exploitation of the ambiguity of the term ‘design’. They want to avalanche all doubt toward their own position, armed with lobby level propaganda.
But the idea of ‘natural design’ has a long history, viz. since Kant, the archcritic of the design argument.
It would be better to adopt a new terminology and drop the useless term design, which is a noun that is a verb that is a verb that wants a noun as subject, etc…. A linguistic swindle.
The point is that ‘n-design’ is pervasive in nature, and science has no teleological methodology to deal with that.
