God, Dawkins and tragic humanism

I, in a new book, Terry Eagleton argues that liberal humanism woefully underestimates the horrors of which humans are capable

These discussions are confusing ‘liberal humanists’ with Darwin idiots and Dawkins groupies.
Very few, if any, ‘Christian religious’ tragedies exist.

    “Christianity was never meant to be an explanation of anything in the first place.”

    I have to wonder whether Eagleton is even sane with a quote like this.
