I am no fan of Karen Armstrong, least of her takes on theology, but she represents the inexorable response to the narrowness of the new atheists as they force the rebound against their oversimplifications (and crypto-Nietzschean idiocy, which they confuse with being smart). To say that ‘god is dead’ is a considerable blunder: result? we get immortal god in the Tibetan bardo state. Ye gods!
