Biocentrism vs. J. G. Bennett’s triadic breakdown
I promised to do some posts on Biocentrism, but I already have. Here is a post I wrote when James first brought the book to my attention: Matter, Life, Consciousness
I think that I should withdraw or sideline these remarks, which are true enough in their own way, but which don’t really do justice to Biocentrism.
The point I was making that is that fundamental categories are hard to come by, and the dualism life vs matter is probably insufficient. We have discussed several times the triplet of J. G. Bennett, Being, Function, Will which automatically subsumes matter and life.
But these points might distract from the interest in Lanza’s book on Biocentrism.
We will get to the book tommorrow.
