Distorting Buddhism

Here’s the article about OOB experiences, and I won’t object to skepticism here as to the so-called evidence in these experiences, except to say the mystery lurks there somewhere behind the subjective confusions of these accounts.
Note that Lickerman’s blog is titled ‘happiness in this world’ with a subtitle claiming he is a buddhist.
What is going on here?
I think that any buddhist who adopts this stance has rejected the ‘first noble truth’ and is trying to wiseacre buddhism.
The next sad step will be to destroy the path to enlightenment
