Why Don’t Atheists Get It? (Actually, Some Do)

Reading this it looks as though ‘new atheists’ end in even greater confusion than theists.

A different strategy is needed: standing beyond the ‘dialectical duality’ of ‘god/no-god’ to keep thought from freezing around a belief system, here a quite silly atheist belief system.

The first paragraph here clarifies, however, what many atheists really mean by moving beyond ‘god’: it actually defines, for once, which god is being rejected.

    I would like to point out an atheist that is going to rock Dawkins out of the post-modern atheists ship by his revolutionary proposal that religion’s ideas are so intelligent, so subtle, that they are not fit to be abandoned to the religious alone. His name is Alain de Botton, and he’ll be on TED Global 2011 pretty soon presenting a talk “Atheism 2.0”:
