Losing the wager on natural selection

October 13th, 2012 · No Comments

I think the left, by the evidence of the articles cited here, is stuck on the question of Darwinism. It is a bad omen. Especially with the added references to the ‘dialectics of nature’ from Engels. The latter just won’t sell anymore, and on Darwinian evolution the tide is turning. I would also forget Gould and his punctuated equilibrium, and get beyond the theory of natural selection. Best of all, the left could simply be wary of theories of evolution: being wrong is endemic here. Simply stick to the reality of deep time and the fossil record: it shows ‘evolution of some kind’. Betting your money on natural selection is turning out to be a lost wager.
