The legacy of 1848

http://darwiniana.com/2012/10/26/macro-effect-and-historical-frameworks/: the place of communism in world history is clear from its birth in the context of the eonic effect, powerfully ca. 1848. But it is important to see that noone has quite set out its meaning, or its historical course. The question is simple, at this point, without a marxist monopoly on the idea: the choice, not the historical law, of free men to save their freedom in the face of rogue capitalism leads naturally to the recomputation of ‘bourgeois revolution’ as ‘revolution against economic servitude’ in the reign of capital. The abolition of private property at the industrial level is thus a crucial step toward a real democratic foundation of the ‘commons’….

The question was bungled by Marx/Engels, and then by the Russian revolution, so we should start from scratch, keeping in mind the dangers of making changes to the legacy.
