Stream and Sequence models and neutral systems analysis.

The Stream and Sequence posts have been read by a lot, and it seems that this is a useful approach to a new way of looking at history. But the method remains something of a puzzle. That’s for a simple reason: it uses a ‘systems analysis’ model, i.e. a model that can at the same term subsume ‘design’ and/or ‘causal’ concepts. We can describe systems that are more than causal, and which might show ‘design’, but not in any fashion resembling ‘intelligent design’ theology.
