I think the OWS is a history of bum steers. Their passage now (but Critchley’s work looks interesting) through French philosophy on the left isn’t going to produce clarity. Let me rush to add that I think the left needs a strategy to deal with the vagaries of French philosophy which have left a whole generation in confusion, and not just that of the postmodern movement. However, French culture has a special place in the thinking of the left and is a legacy that can be both embraced and transcended.
Why doesn’t the gang at the OWS take up Last and First Men for a #theorythursday…? Aha, they are cowards and can’t face the ostracism of those who challenge darwinism. The OWS is thus a silly movement, bad French philosophy will be its epitaph.
Exercise: devise a strategy to both use and pass beyond leftist/semileftist French philosophy since Satre/Foucault.
