Finding mental ‘space’ beside ‘dialectical noise’ to think through practical issues

October 23rd, 2014 · No Comments

We have been critical of Zizek’s historical materialism but here he shows that dialectical materialism doesn’t really enter practical discussions of politics, culture and movements: we have to argue on points, and we have an interesting set of takes on issues.
I will venture a speculation, however, that ‘marxists’ have their heads so filled with the wrong theories and dialectical ‘thought clouds’ that they have little mental energy left for practical issues. And the derivation of anything is rendered problematical with the corruption of thinking created by false dialectical assumptions.
