The atmosphere with respect to Cuba is a good opportunity to start asking questions about a ‘new communism’: the current rapprochement will likely turn into attempts to push Cuba into the marvels of economic freedom via corporate re-denomination. So the question asked here many times is now urgent: how could a new form of economy be constructed that will allow some form of economic reform along with a reform of communism without the drift to capitalist domination that occurred in the era of Gorbachev. It is important to table the known evidence of that transition betrayed by American imperialist depradation…The Russian case is downright sordid. The Americans had no interest in establishing either real democracy or capitalism. The vulnerable Cuba needs to be spared this fate.
