The future of history ?

February 28th, 2015 · No Comments

The question of science and history has been discussed in WHEE: World History and The Eonic Effect and the starting point is the affirmation of the place of free agency in the discussion of theory. The issue is crucial because we do find elements of ‘determination’, a vague superset of ‘determinism’, in world history but they do not necessarily override free agency. This is the confusing point that blurs the attempt to see historical dynamics: it is realized through men, and ‘man makes himself’, but within a general framework. The ‘future of history’ will be to free itself of darwinian assumptions which have confused the issues.
