I changed my mind about a manual for book production. Adobe Indesign has so many books, videos, tutorial and online help, that it is absurd for me to enter the fray. This pdf needs a final proofing, but the point is clear.
I think I have made my point. And this short PDF might help to find avenues of dissent given some public awareness.
This is no laughing matter: the question of evolution can be resolved by peer reviewed science.
I promised to put up a booklet on POD publishing and the software needed to do it. This is a short intro and I will try to finish it some time soon: I am doing this because I proposed a Chapter 4 for Last and First Men, with contributions from leftist thinkers.
This doesn’t need to have anything to do with my book: a new independent form of book publishing is needed for radicals who can’t conform.
Any continuation to Last and First Men should make use of the rough contours of the text:
the issues of the industrial revolution
the classic 1848’ers and their drama (I am less enthusiastic about Capital than the early economic/philosophical texts, but that’s your move. The many issues speak for themselves with some unexpected ones: Kant’s theory of ethics, Greek tragedy and the Greece of the Axial Age. The theory of Darwin gets the ‘treatment’ and the Axial Age is matched with the ‘transition’ of the early modern… a lot of stuff. The object is to reanimate the classic canon by sublating around it: disagreeing by agreeing by putting everything into a superset. Etc…
I will finish the manual soon:
A whole new technology of publishing and of document software has come into existence. Adobe’s SW is hard to match and Indesign, to me, is the final replacement for Word.
