Is Smolin a darwin dummy? Can darwin dummies do basic physics?

To the first question, I would say the verdict is close to grim: I see no way out of it. He has even tried to generalize darwin dummy theory to the whole cosmos. But the idea of cosmic evolution can have other realizations, so…
To the second question I would say, yes: these sciences are compartmentalized and its is probably perfectly possible to do good work in one compartment.

But the embarrassing question lingers, how can be do brilliant physics and suddently bite on the hook of darwinism?

Moral: physicists either buy into the Darwin con, or…can’t figure out where darwinism goes wrong.
