That isn’t really the issue I was talking about. I hate the term “spiritual” which is why I enclose it in quotation marks. I’m talking about the plain vanilla phenomena (i.e. consciousness, mind, or whatever you want to call it) that contemporary scientific understanding obviously cannot explain (obvious to those who aren’t brainwashed).

I feel the same way: which is why I tend to talk about Samkhya which finishes off debate by calling everything material…
And this tactic appears in Bennett again.
It is a useful finesse…But it requires a more complex partition of ‘reality’: not even physicists think everything is material anymore: it is a complex mix of fields, matter, and the repressed ‘idealism’ of concepts…etc….
