Doris Lessing…Canopus in Argos, etc…

One of the strange things about the new age movement is the ‘Sirian connection’, a complicated rumor now almost fifty years old. And Doris Lessing is one strange interloper with a set of novels I haven’t read about some aspects of this turned into scifi, no doubt in some context surrounding Idries Shah. This would make a good research project for someone on the left. That Sirians are real live aliens who have already contacted earth, or sufis, or who knows, is the default ‘idiot null hypothesis’, a good starting point for research, or ‘sleuthery’ of the facts of the case.

The start of LFM, instead of the Sirian connection, about which I know nothing, moves in something like Bennett’s ‘demiurgic powers’ hypothesis, which is not about aliens, and for me NOT a belief system but a new hypothetical starting point for the issue of ‘spiritual material’ entities in the realm of existence. These are not space aliens from another galaxy. IN fact they are undefined, despite Bennett’s instant one man cult of the same…
