The question of the tragic genre is perhaps too complex to hope for a recursion. Instead my idea was that a cathedral of poetic fragments in a series of tragic abstractions could do just as well. It is important to reflect on the early modern and its profundity. We don’t have to become Hollywood zombies forever. I think that the question of the tragic genre is one of the hardest questions of cultural history. It is a defeat to simply let it slide into oblivion. A gift from the unknown was better understood by men far more ‘primitive’ than we. In fact the reverse was the case…
