Is Mr. Krugman another of those bloodthirsty economists who use calculus to steal food from babies and look the other way at statistical mass murder?

It may well be that solar power has reached a threshold of commercial potential, but it is irresponsible, irregardless of the merits of communist ideas, to think that the current system can deal with the planetary crisis underway in all fields.

To find anything equivalent on the left you have to go far out of the mainstream, to activists who insist that climate change can’t be fought without overthrowing capitalism. Still, my sense is that many Democrats believe that politics as usual isn’t up to the task, that we need a political earthquake to make real action possible. In particular, I keep hearing that the Obama administration’s environmental efforts have been so far short of what’s needed as to be barely worth mentioning.

Krugman seems to take neo-classical economics very seriously.

One of the quirks of economists in the status quo is the way they simply focus on the statistical average of employment success and simply disregard the evidence the system is destroying millions who are simply no longer a part of the system…
