Marxism dying on the vine

March 9th, 2016 · No Comments

The contraction of philosophy actually occurred long ago in the early nineteenth century and this is reflected in Marxism

On that score, the left needs to move beyond the now archaic materialism of the marxists with a larger perspective based on full modernism: instead of contracting, expand to include the whole spectrum of modernity: From the Reformation to the Enlightenment. Marxism is dying on the vine because its cadre is so fixed in a now dated viewpoint it can’t even handle ethical issues, and muddles its simplistic materialism with a ‘dialectic’ that has produced still more confusion. Instead an open perspective that includes all the basic counterpoints is needed.
