Someone asked me what I was referring on YouTube: the latter has a lot of good and bad neighborhoods, and there are a lot of lurid bad ones on the immigration crisis in all shades center right to right. But some of the issues are repressed on the left. Scroll through and you gets the rightist ‘howls of protest’ vote that Sweden is going to be bankrupted, German democraphics is going critical, shock at the ‘rape’ phenomenon, and hoarse Islamic sloganeering about a European caliphate via the crisis.
I think this debate is a bit murky, and the right makes it hard to deal with, but one thing is sure: if Europeans lose Europe, Moslems will lose Islam. The idea of a European caliphate is crackpot, but a foil for an interesting set of discussions about the future of Islam.
A European criticizing Islam in an Islamic country is one thing, but a European applying criticism (e.g. Enlightenment secularism) to Islam in Europe is or should be on solid ground. If American and Israeli gangster imperialism has driven moslems into Europe, ‘serves ’em right’ doesn’t apply, but ‘what the heck’, maybe, then moslems have endured a windfall: the opportunity to shed Islamic obsessions and embrace a post-European modernism and its secularist ‘last man standing’. And it will be the ‘last man standing’ even if Europe is reduced to rubble.
I think the situation will cool a lot faster than one might think. And it is not really necessary to redistribute populations beyond a certain point. Islamization of a whole European continent would be a useless development and the real challenge is for the secularized societies to stop middle eastern depradations and let that zone modernize properly, without the oil gangsters plying their social destruction complots. At that point the immigrants may go home, and why not let Europeans immigrate to moslems countries, if the later are really able to turn secular?
Moslems have a a great future but that doesn’t include Islam, save as a Reformation endproduct, a vestigial possibly elegant semi-sufistic modernized art background. The rest is silence for the Islamic Hamlet.
