I have been more or less supportive of the Sanders campaign, without giving up a more radical perspective, but, short of some unforeseen development in the endgame, we are back where we were a year a ago, with hundreds of millions (sic!) squandered on an attempt to work through the system.
Such as I will start over with none of those funds, from where we were last year.
This is part of the reason I have been critical of the left’s very unradical set of strategies, and the attempts to work through the system. It is one more failure in a list stretching backward some forty years.
In a further mockery, we now confront something even worse on the right, the Trump phenomenon.
Meanwhile this is the year that climate change has started to get even more ominous as the calamity begins to accelerate.
I think it is still possible and important to work through the system, lest I be misunderstood, but a new further left revolutionary initiative needs to be on the table. And I think even the established powers are starting to themselves wonder here. They are hoping some revolutionary project can take the problem out of their hands. What they say in public, and forget the repubs, is not what they really think.
