Protestants forget they are secularists and secularists fail to see the full dimension of ‘modernity’ which is a superset of what came before, and is actually far richer in ‘spiritual’ potential than the now dying world religions. I guess it is futile to remind Mr. Ham that biblical inerrancy is a dead letter at this point. The Bible has zero status as a reliable text if it is to be made doctrinal. If it is taken historically its interest remains, and one might consider the discussion in my Enigma of the Axial Age (Amazon) or the pdf version at history and evolution.com.
“Secularists borrow from the Christian world view — they borrow from the laws of nature, from laws of logic — they assume God whom they reject. The secularist worldview is ultimately totally bankrupt, purposeless, meaningless, and hopeless — purpose, hope and meaning are only found in Christ,” he added.
