A jewish homeland? //Trump’s Far-Right Israel Stance Creates an Opening for the Left – In These Times

We have suggested here a number of times, although without any complete break with the idea of a two state solution, the idea of a larger federation of entities: Lebanon, Israel, Jordan, Palestine (and others) into a unified complex under terms of democratic equalization, in the passing away of a jewish state. The latter is the key point and we challenge ruthlessly with secular axioms the whole monstrosity created by calling ‘israel’ a ‘jewish homeland’. Americans need to wake up here: the historic injustice of this situation will at some point sink american civilization itself.

Many progressives believe—as a result of ongoing Israeli colonization of land that Palestinians would need to have a viable state of their own—that a single shared state may be the best and most realistic solution. But the “one-state” solution Trump and Netanyahu now speak of is unlikely to be a democratic bi-national state where Israeli Jews and Palestinian Arabs have equal rights. Instead, Trump and Netanyahu’s solution would effectively be an apartheid state, where Israel would maintain its control over the Palestinian population indefinitely.
