youtube educational revolution?

April 2nd, 2017 · No Comments

The realm of youtube has expanded to a huge library of educational resources of all kinds: mathematical intros of all kinds, language courses (type ‘luganda’ into a youtube search, a remote african language, full course).
When i was in college studying classics the question of ancient greek was complicated by inability to understand the way it was pronounced. Reading complex texts from homer and greek tragedy was undermined by the artificial and false pronunciation of modern times. A complicated tonal language with a tricky pronunciation…I stumbled on a whole series of youtube videos on the subject. too bad they didn’t have youtube when i was in college…

type in the search box for almost any language on the planet. Here’s an intro to Luganda, an african language from Uganda…(a distant relative of swahili)
