The science march, and the science/scientism debate

April 22nd, 2017 · No Comments

The science march is an exciting development which we support here but at the same time we have often distinguished here the difference between science and so-called ‘scientism’ and along the way criticized the darwinian theory of evolution based on the idea of natural selection. The whole debate has left in limbo the question of science and its limits to really explain ‘reality’. In fact this is an old question and is not connected to the strains of ‘anti-science’ that are mostly fringe perspectives. The critique of science must be a part of science itself, and the limits of science need to be examined in a non-prejudicial environment of debate and analysis.
