The question of atheism is as confused as that of theism: the latter asks, what do you mean by ‘god’? the former seems to ask, what do you mean by ‘no god’? The two questions are suspiciously similar. But there are many who would have qualified as atheists who refuse to be counted in the simplistic and cultic ‘New Atheism’ which virtually polices a set of beliefs that antagonize many who are de facto atheists but not of the Dawkins style brand of dogmatists (who promote a near religion of accessory beliefs). Many react and move to a looser combination, indeed, it is quite possible to a theist and an atheist in a state of enquiry and search.
