R48G: booknotes, game theory for commies? //Prisoners of Reason: Game Theory and Neoliberal Political Economy

I am reading Prisoners of Reason and was surprised/not really surprised (shocked) to find it critical of game theory (its use in evolutionary has been challenged here, as the evo blog Darw…).

I have studied neo-classical economics (mostly rubbish) but have never quite studied game theory beyond slight reading about Von Neuman’s classic and general accounts of the subject. (I will look at Ken Binmore’s Game Theory: a very short introduction which I discovered on my bookshelf). The critique of game theory needs to join the critique of neo-classical economics. I am getting old, someone please join the Red Forty-eight Group and do this for me, but the account in P. of R. is a start. The internet I am sure has a lot here already…
