We have critiqued gandhian views here but that was an historical analysis and somewhat up in the air: our point was to make clear that Gandhi was somewhat anomalous and did not clearly found his views.

That said, we haven’t said much about, say, the antifa or other groups.
Let us simply make clear that the revolutions of the early modern that produced modern democracy was military in character. They weren’t non-violent movements.
We need to be clear about the larger picture and ask if the crisis of civilization we face can be resolved by non-violent movements.

And there is the question of socialism/communism in the context of a passage beyond capitalism, whatever that means. We hardly have the opportunity for armed revolt but in the abstract we must be sentimental and throw away a dark emerging future of near totalitarian capitalism, to say nothing of climate change, descending on us….
