R48G: an exercise in variants of marxism…

We have suggested a number of ways to reset the ‘marx meter’ with a slightly different approach to the whole subject: the small changes however make a big difference. A key issue is to consider that liberalism and communism (socialism) are really two closely related twins (Marx said as much in his own blurbs on capitalism) juggling the issue of economics. The two became diametric opposites and this created a stalinist outcome in the bolshevik era: the point is to bring communism to liberalism and liberalism to communism, and this doesn’t require any statement about historical materialism. It could be grounded in the early modern’s historical trend toward democracy. Sounds obvious but it is an implicit critique of much marxist theory.
