Although transepochal comparisons can be dangerous, the sudden chaotification of democracy two centuries from the divide (ca. 1800)

eerily parallels the brief career of Greek (athenian democracy)…This is not the same as decline (in antiquity, the decline of the roman empire so useful as spenglerian theme came much much later). There is nothing inevitable about this and the possibility of recreating a new and truer democracy, perhaps under communist axioms of equality, now confronts a system accelerating toward fascist burnout under the barbarian idiot trump…
