R48G: virtual revolution and the fragmentation of issue activism
September 16th, 2017 ·

We have cited several articles today, including one on Sanders’ health care initiative, that sound again the warning about the fragmentation of issue activism. Our exercise of ‘virtual revolution’ is a way to speak legally in public as free speech about the possibility of systematic change, evolutionary or revolutionary. I may have missed something in Sanders’ initiative but ‘our revolution’ needs to be just that and this requires a full quota of seemingly impossible questions.

At this point the critical issue is climate change. Beyond that we have the questions of economic transformation, political reform, the question of covert agencies, militarism, and in general the question of postcapitalism, etc…

So, as to virtual revolution, how can a vanguard of ‘revolutionaries’ induce change/regime change, etc…? One answer is that the system is starting to self-destruct: we must be ready with the net equivalent of a revolutionary program…
Here we have tried to insist that marxism has a flawed framework and that we need to recast is essential core in a new and fresh version. We have two manifestos with the details of this virutal revolution.
