Marx needs a break…

We have been critiquing marx almost excessively, but he got a lot of things right. It would not be hard to create a version of historical materialism in terms of the eonic model: Stream and Sequence ideas (continuity/discontinuity)…The continuous stream history of capitalism passes through the discontinuity of modernity and intersects with the industrial revolution to create an outcome that is unbalanced and a threat to emergent democracy that moves to reinvent itself in a de facto but not fixed era of ‘capitalism’. The idea of proletarian revolution foots the bill very exactly and its timely appearance is one of the last of the transitional pieces of thunder/innovation. The confusion arises from adam smith and the cogent, if not absolute, observation that ‘laissez-faire’ needs a hearing and this tends to generate a false ideology that ends by challenging the state, and democracy itself. But there is no reason why born again ‘laissez-faire’ can’t in some fashion coexist with socialism, and finally communism. The issue of markets is one that could probably be automated by new technologies so there is no hard contradiction necessarily with a communist axiomatics, notwithstanding the fetish of private property ideology.
